About FAIT · Boulder, CO

We think repairs
should be measurable.

Most homeowners discover what their roof costs the day it leaks. We do not think that is how it should work. FAIT scans every home once, builds a record that lasts, and matches the work to a Free Agent who already agreed to the price.

Why does my house
keep surprising me?

  • Three contractor estimates, three different numbers.
  • No paper trail. No service log.
  • Scan once. Tag every system.
  • Forecast the next ten years of spend.
  • Three vetted Free Agents per trade, per zip.
  • Quotes against the record, not a guess.

Manifesto

Six things,
in writing.

Every product decision starts here. If a feature does not serve one of these, it does not ship.

  1. 01 ·

Surprise costs are the bug, not a feature.

  2. 02 ·

A home should produce data the way a car does.

  3. 03 ·

A quote is a contract before the first nail.

  4. 04 ·

Three per trade, per zip code. No more.

  5. 05 ·

Every Free Agent is licensed, insured, background-checked, by hand.

  6. 06 ·

    Forecast spend, not estimate spend.

Timeline

Two years,
one bet.

From a spreadsheet of bad estimates to a statewide directory of background-checked Free Agents. Four moments that shaped FAIT.

  1. Jan 2024

A roof estimate misses by 40%.

Ray's contractor walks the roof, hands him a number, and three weeks later sends an invoice that bears no resemblance to the estimate. Ray spends a Saturday building a spreadsheet of every home repair he has ever paid for. Two-thirds of them were over the original quote.

  2. Jun 2024

    The first Matterport pilot.

A pilot of 12 Boulder homes gets scanned, tagged, and forecast. Every system, every fixture, every serial number tied to the room it lives in. Three of the twelve discover an upcoming roof or furnace replacement they had not budgeted for.

  3. Mar 2025

    FAIT opens to the public.

Three Free Agents in three trades sign the membership agreement: fixed-price scopes, agreed in advance, three per trade per zip code. Public booking goes live. The first paid scan happens that month.

  4. Jan 2026

    142 Free Agents. 1,847 homes.

Statewide Colorado coverage in seven trades. Average savings per quote stabilize at $2,100. Free Agent retention runs above 90%. The Home Record API ships in private beta.
